Job Description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Accountant in Washington, DC. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end and year-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and general ledger reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Assist with audit preparation by compiling schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit requests
• Provide accounting support during an ERP implementation, including parallel testing, validation of financial data, and process improvements
• Support grant accounting activities, including reconciliation of restricted funds and compliance with applicable accounting standards
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to improve workflows and reduce manual processes
• Assist with financial reporting and other ad hoc accounting projects as needed
• At least 1 year of direct Workday experience
• Been through a couple of closes at different organizations
• Ability to get their hands dirty to close the books
