Summary

We are looking for a Program Monitor to join our inpatient treatment team in St. Charles. Provides medication administration to clients under the direction of the nursing staff. Provides supportive and functional care to clients with routine daily care in accordance with established care procedures as directed by nursing leadership. Works as a member of and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team with a focus on maintaining the client as the director of their care. This hours for the position are Saturday - Wednesday 3:00 P.M - 11:00 P.M.

Job Responsibilities

  • Medication management, distribution, and documentation
  • Completing client admissions and discharges by following belonging search procedures, administering urine drug screens, and documenting client information into electronic medical records.
  • Frequently checking in with clients to ensure they are safe and following program guidelines
  • Reporting client behavioral changes and concerns to the clinical team

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred, Level 1 Medication Certified with MO Dept of Health and Senior Services
  • Computer skills sufficient to access email, internet, and to document in client’s medical record
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
  • Good customer service skills
  • CPR certification and first aid training
  • Prior experience with direct care preferred-basic computer skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Mobility & Stamina: Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods throughout the shift.
  • Lifting & Carrying: Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25–50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance (e.g., moving patients, equipment, or supplies).
  • Manual Dexterity: Requires fine motor skills to accurately prepare and administer medications.
  • Vision & Hearing: Must have sufficient vision (corrected or uncorrected) and hearing to observe and assess patient conditions, read labels, and follow written instructions.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Other Physical Demands: Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling when assisting residents.

  • Environment: Work performed primarily in a healthcare/long-term care facility with exposure to patients/residents.
  • Exposure: Potential contact with bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals (medications, cleaning supplies), and bodily fluids.
  • Pace & Stress: Fast-paced, with multiple interruptions and urgent medication administration timelines. May involve dealing with stressful situations, including emergencies.
  • Shifts: May be required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on staffing needs.
  • Teamwork: Frequent interaction with nurses, physicians, patients, and family members; requires patience, empathy, and professionalism.
