Position Title: Oncology Infusion Nurse (RN) Days - Full Time KUCC - Overland Park Position Summary The Oncology Nurse Float provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions Demonstrates competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills. Provides care/service safely and efficiently for each patient. Assesses and interprets patient status using physical assessment, laboratory and diagnostic procedure results, and patient interview. Uses information to provide patient care utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in all aspects of IV therapy, including hydration, chemotherapy, biotherapy, and blood products. Manages patient care based on knowledge of cancer, cancer treatment, and side effects of such treatment. Provides education to the patient and family regarding disease and treatment plan. Contributes to orientation, education, and evaluation of new staff and the community. Consults with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding pertinent patient issues and collaborates with research staff regarding ongoing studies. Performs the professional, clinical, and/or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and Experience High School Graduate Associate Degree Nursing (or higher degree) Bachelor Degree Nursing Must complete BSN within 5 years of hire as RN 1 or more years med surg/acute care 1 or more years oncology experience Required Licensure and Certification BLS or BCLS – American Heart Association (AHA) Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Multi-State State Board of Nursing Current active multistate state Registered Nurse license in good standing in the state in which you live Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 4/30/2026 Preferred Licensure and Certification Chemo Certification – Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Important Information for You to Know as You Apply The health system is an equal employment opportunity employer.
