What You'll Do:

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at SAEC, you’ll be an integral part of our dynamic engineering team. You'll gain hands-on experience, contributing to real-world projects and working alongside experts in the field of mechanical systems design.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the design and layout of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) for commercial and industrial buildings
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and plumbing engineers
• Utilizing cutting-edge software (Revit and others) for 3D modeling and system design
• Participating in site visits and helping with field data collection
• Assisting with the creation of reports, specifications, and system documentation
• Supporting the project team in maintaining project schedules and budgets

What You'll Learn:

• MEP System Understanding: Gain knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems in building design.
• Design Software Proficiency: Develop skills in tools like Revit for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Practical Application: Apply mechanical engineering principles to real-world projects, including design and troubleshooting.
• Collaboration Skills: Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with other building components.
• Sustainability Focus: Learn about energy-efficient and sustainable design practices.
• Project Management Exposure: Understand project timelines, budgeting, and client interaction.
• Field Experience: Participate in site visits and gain hands-on data collection and fieldwork experience.
• Technical Writing: Improve skills in preparing reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Advanced Technology: Explore virtual design and AI tools used in engineering projects.

What We're Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and building designs
• Familiarity with Revit or similar software (preferred but not required)
• Solid communication and teamwork skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and eagerness to learn
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• A passion for innovation and sustainability in building systems

Working Hours are between 8 AM - 5 PM
Summer Internships: 32 - 40 hours per week
Fall/Spring Internships 16-24 hours per week, working with course schedules
