Job Duties:
Prepare calving facility. Calve out calves during the calving season. Medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal sicknesses. Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers. Monitor newborn calves and nursing mothers. Isolate sick calves. Move cattle to and from summer grazing pastures. Wean all calves during the weaning season. Haul and spread manure. Operate farming equipment in order to plant, spray, harvest and haul grain crops. Harvest, bale and stack hay and cornstalks. Transport crops to storage facilities. Mow yards. Clean field ditches. Fix and repair fencing. General farm maintenance duties such as servicing and cleaning equipment, facility maintenance and shop work.
Additional information:
A general work week is Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. However, because of the complexity of the crop conditions workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. Therefore, hours above 66 per week may be offered but are not guaranteed.

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 03/24/2025). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.
Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
