Job Description

Functions as member of the management and nursing team. Serves as a leader and role model. Responsible for nursing orientation for new employees and internal transfers. Provides educational programs and in-service to the employees, as well as consults, develops, plans, implements, and evaluates programs provided. QUALIFICATIONS Education / Experience Master's degree required. 5+ years clinical nursing experience required. Knowledge of CPSI preferred. Must have knowledge surrounding nursing equipment (IV pumps, SCD pumps, CBI, etc.). Experience in Med/Surg, ED and/or Critical Care areas required. Licensure / Certification Current Georgia License as a Nurse. Duties and Responsibilities Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines. Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization. Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures. Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self‑education, attends ongoing educational programs). Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in‑services and requirements and competency evaluations of time. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. In non‑clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age‑specific customer service skills. Physical and Mental Requirements Must have the cognitive ability to perform in this role. Critical and executive level thinking is required. Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Have near normal hearing – able to hear alarms/telephone/normal speaking voice/webinars. Have near normal vision – clarity of vision (both near and far) either corrected on non‑corrected, ability to distinguish colors. Have good manual dexterity and eye‑hand‑foot coordination. Standing – continuously within the shift (67‑100%). Walking – continuously within the shift (67‑100%). Climbing – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Bending/stooping – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Twist at the waist – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Pushing/pulling 50+ lbs without assistance – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Pushing/pulling 100+ lbs with assistance – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Lift/carry – 20+ lbs without assistance – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Reaching above the shoulders – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%). Lift/carry – 50+ lbs with assistance – occasionally within the shift (1‑33%).
