Position Summary

Our CDL Class A Driver position is responsible for transporting various materials between locations. This position often travels extensive distances to deliver loads and must adhere to traffic and safety regulations while still making deliveries in a timely manner. A good candidate for this position will be dependable, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and flexible to change in a busy work environment. These general categories do not necessarily constitute all job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer-ordered materials to designated location(s)
  • Operating of vehicle and unloading and load handling/securement at designated location(s),
  • Perform routine inspections, pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports
  • Ensuring and reporting maintenance and/or repair issues with the vehicle are correct before driving
  • Perform daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.)
  • Recording cargo deliveries, verifying loads for accuracy, planning routes, and meeting delivery schedules
  • Properly secure loads in accordance with the industry client’s specific safety practices
  • Record and maintain information accurately and precisely in the Driver’s Log to comply with DOT regulations
  • Maintain positive and ongoing customer relations through proper attitude, behavior, and appearance
  • Become acquainted with client inventory, products, and materials
  • Learn, understand, and comply with OSHA requirements, company safety rules, and policies

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior 1 year regulated tractor-trailer experience required
  • CDL Class A required
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • At all times, wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Steel-toed boots are required
  • Awareness and understanding of pertinent safety guidelines
  • Capacity to provide and follow directions and procedures

Physical Demand: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and/or stoop and sit for hours at a time.

Training: Company-paid on-the-job training as needed.
